“I started my MBA studies in autumn 2019 because I wanted to develop my own thinking in a more strategic direction. In addition, my goal is to develop the capacity of the management team. Executive Education at the University of Vaasa has interesting content focusing on leadership.
I have gained a lot of benefits from the training for my work. Strategic management gave me good tools for thinking about the company’s strategy and, at the same time, an enthusiasm to study more about the matter in my free time. Porter’s model of the five competitive forces has moved into daily thinking in such a way that when thinking about products and services, I outline who has what amount of competitive power. The Leadership module also left a lot for my own daily work, and especially the reflection on my own actions gained more depth.
Studying has been nice because there are students from very different backgrounds and thus different approaches to challenges. There have been pharmacists, doctors, merchants, entrepreneurs, CFO, HR managers, etc. with whom I have had many excellent conversations.”
